Two Months

It's been just over two months since our baby arrived, and she has grown so much over these past nine weeks.  It is amazing to watch her; I feel like she learns something new every day.  This is such a fun age, she's smiling, starting to 'talk' to us, and making the funniest faces.

We took her to the doctor earlier this month for her two-month check-up.  We knew she had grown quite a bit the past few weeks, and Trevor and I were taking bets on just how big she was.  We were both guessing in the 11lb range and around 23 inches (she was born at 8lbs, 10oz and was 21.5 inches long), but our little pumpkin surprised us both and checked in at 13lbs and 23 3/4 inches long!  She's in the 95th percentile for both height and weight--impressive little growth spurt from LC.  The doctor said having a big baby is a good thing because she sleeps and eats well, and that is the biggest concern for babies at this point.  We are so glad that she's healthy, and we see a future for her as a tennis star if this growth continues.

The two month check-up also meant her first round of immunizations.  She had to get three shots, and she was not happy about it.  It was so sad to see her little face and hear her cry, but she was a trooper and got over it pretty quickly.  Here's a picture of her little band-aids:

The week of July 4, my parents, my sister and her kids all came to visit.  It was so much fun to see them, and for everyone to get to spend time with LC.  Ella and Jessica are excellent big cousins. They brought LC a book and read it to her.

They made her a special outfit that said "Hello World.  My name is LC. Word."  It was fantastic, and LC was very happy to wear it.  Here's the girls posing like LC while she's napping and modeling her custom-designed onesie.

Speaking of custom created outfits, we did LC's monthly photo shoot with her pink soccer ball on Monday.  Trevor created another awesome outfit and won the competition.  My Dad joined in this month, and his was also really creative and cute.  I came in third with my attempt at a tulip.  Next month we'll have to remember to take her picture a little earlier in the evening.  We were too close to bed time, and she was a little fussy and not giving us any smiles.

Trevor's creation:
That's right - its an R2D2 Months outfit.  Awesome, right?  I love my husband.  And his skills using fabric markers to recreate R2 on the front are extremely impressive.  Those things aren't easy to use, which is obvious below in my attempt to draw a pretty flower...

It's been an incredible journey so far; every day is something new, something frustrating and something absolutely wonderful.  Life with LC is amazing and although it's only been 11 weeks, it feels like we've known her forever.  She's grown so much already, we can't wait to see what she'll do next.  You can see her brain really working and starting to figure things out so the next few weeks should be really fun.

Her 3-month birthday is fast approaching, so we'll update with some more pictures and stories.  We'll see if Trevor can keep his streak in the custom onesie competition alive...
