Busy, Busy, Busy

Immediately after finishing the last blog post, Jessica and I both sat down and said that we were going to start writing more frequent posts to capture some of the things LC was up to.  Well, here we are over a month later and no updates.  Needless to say, things have been incredibly busy at the house.  LC figured out how to crawl back in January and hasn't stopped moving since.  It has been incredibly exciting for all three of us, but especially for LC.  Within a few days of crawling she began to explore the house and shortly after, she figured out how to pull herself up and stand.  Our lives now revolve around following her around the house and making sure everything is safe.
LC has become a master at pulling herself up to stand and has finally worked up the courage to try and stand on her own.  She's getting closer and closer, but also more frustrated when she has to ask for help from Mom or Dad.  In hindsight, it probably wasn't the best idea, but we bought her a dinosaur she can use to help walk or sit on and be pushed...she absolutely loves it.  She's just reached the point where she can "walk" herself around the house (with Dad making sure the dinosaur doesn't go too fast) and she couldn't be happier.  We figure it won't be long before she's walking on her own and neither one of us are ready for that.
It's hard for us to believe, but LC is only 1 week away from her 10-month birthday.  We had the 9-month doctor's visit in March and LC came in at just over 20 pounds and just shy of 29 inches long.  Dr. Connolly said everything looked great and LC was a healthy and happy baby.  We've been trying to introduce more foods to LC...we've had some success but apparently we have a carb-o-holic on our hands.  Bread, puffs, Cheerios, Mum-Mums and Goldfish she absolutely loves.  Trying to get her to eat anything else is a bit of a challenge.  Dinner most nights involves her reluctantly eating some combination of vegetables, oatmeal and yogurt, whining the whole time until she gets her "dessert" of puffs.  We've had some success recently with meats and cheese, but every night seems to be a new adventure at the dining room table.
Not quite sure what's about to happen

Sometimes she'll only eat food off of the corner of the yogurt cup
Super excited about making a mess
Since we both get to spend such little time with LC during the week, we try to cherish every second we get before she goes to bed.  The favorite time of day for Jessica and I is bath time and bed "prep" time.  LC loves her baths (now she loves standing in her bath which makes Dad a little nervous) and is in such a good mood while we get ready for bed.  She crawls around the room naked or in her bath towel, laughing and playing, enjoying some fun time with Mom & Dad.  Once she's finally run out of energy, she'll lay on the floor and suck her thumb, letting us know it's time to start the bed time process (jammies, tooth brushing and bedtime story).
Super happy after a good bath

Digging for toys before bed
Wrestling with Dad after bath
Here are a few more pictures of the little one from the last month.  We just got back from a family trip to Atlantis, so we should have some pictures posted soon.
February in Jacksonville...jeans and no sleeves

All the toys in the world and one of her favorite things is Annabelle's food bowl

Updating her status on Facebook

Hanging out with Pop-Pop before the UNC-Duke game

Park time with Mommy

On the move

Playing with her new friend Violet.  LC is not quite sure how Violet knows so much about her.

Worst greatest invention ever.  LC loves standing here and playing with all of the parts to the table; it's so cute to watch her explore.  The bad news is that the same songs play over and over and over.  I'm fairly certain this is a torture device in some countries...I hear these songs in my head all the time now...guess I should get used to it.
