LT's party was a small celebration at the house with friends and family. He was really getting into dinosaurs, so we went with a dinosaur-themed party. The cake from Target turned out much better than the racist monkey we got from Publix for LC's first.
LT really enjoyed having all of the people around and being the center of attention. He did well with the decorations, presents and singing, with the only hiccup coming during cake time. He was doing well eating the cake with his fingers when he decided to go all-in face first. Everyone started laughing when this happened and he immediately shot up, crying uncontrollably. We spent a few minutes trying unsuccessfully to comfort him; he finally came back around when he realized there was more cake to eat.

We had a great time at the party and were so happy to see our little man turn one. It was a somewhat trying first year, but he crossed the threshold and has been growing ever since. Now that it's almost December again, it's time to start planning the second birthday party. Based on his current interests, it will likely be some combination of Mickey Mouse, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, and Doc McStuffins...should be interesting.
Happy (extremely belated) Birthday!
